The ECR is Surly's answer to those times when you just need to escape to the woods for a while to get away from the humdrum of life. Those familiar with this steel mule know it’s designed around plus tires, previously of the 29” variety. A fully loaded 29+ bike is an excellent way to explore and get away for a while… if you’re of a certain stature that is. For smaller riders, it poses several challenges though. And no one wants new problems when they’re in the woods trying to escape old ones. To solve this, Surly redesigned the smaller sizes of the ECR to work with 27.5+ while the larger sizes are still equipped with 29+. All you medium specimens out there get your pick of the litter as Surly is offering that size in both options. Other updates to the ECR include and are limited to: Gnot-Boost rear spacing and a killer new beige paint job. It retains the abundant accessory mounts that we all know and love like Surly Trip Guide for brakes and derailleurs, fender, rack, and Bill/Ted eyelets, and a Rohloff torque arm slot. The 29+ sizes have two water bottle mounts and one set of Three-Pack bosses. You’ve got lots of options to bring all your “necessities” with you and still have room for excess baggage if you’ve got it.
The Impulso is the workhorse of Bianchi's Endurance Race family. It utilizes our proven K-VID (Kevlar Vibration Isolation Device) vibration damping technology in its carbon fork, UTSS (Ultra Thin Seat Stays), THT (Triple Hydroformed Technology), as well as BAT (Bianchi Active Technology) to optimize the rider’s sitting and pedaling position on the bike. The Impulso aluminum tubing profile has been maximized to provide best-in-class rider comfort while providing steadfast acceleration from the oversize downtube and chainstays. THT allow us to make an aluminum frame that exceeds European testing breakage standards; 6 times that of the minimum requirement. Geometry shared with the Infinito allows you to steer confidently at speed, stay relaxed while riding faster and farther with more comfort. Countervail is a carbon composite-material system that, with special fiber architecture, combines patented structural carbon with viscoelastic resin. Countervail cancels 80% of vibrations while increasing the stiffness and strength of Bianchi carbon frames and forks. PROVEN IN NASA AEROSPACE OPERATIONS Traditional passive damping in frames using superficial rubber inserts and isolators are marginally effective compared to the integrated carbon Countervail system developed by Bianchi for cycling and proven in the extreme conditions of NASA aerospace operations. OPTIMIZED FRAME PERFORMANCE The specific CV tuning process reduces rider’s muscle fatigue and increases control for a better overall performance, especially on bumpy roads and cobblestone sections. FORK The Infinito CV Disc is fitted with a shallow curved blade, aero, full-carbon fork. Featuring a 1-1/8 – 1.5in tapered steer tube and 12x100mm thru-axle dropouts, for steering stability and precision and braking performance. The fork weighs 390g. INTEGRATED DISC BRAKE MOUNTS The Infinito CV Disc frame and fork feature fully-integrated Flat Mount Disc brakes, delivering uniform power, increased efficiency and precise modulation for strong predictable braking, in any weather conditions. Compatible with 140 or 160mm rotors. Cables for brakes and drivetrain are all internally routed. ENDURANCE GEOMETRY Riding long distances requires a special focus on perfect fit. The downtube diameter on the 57-61cm frames is Infinito CV Disc is increased by 5mm to increase torsional stiffness and optimize weight. Infinito CV Disc uses an integrated-look carbon seatpost, featuring a saddle rail clamp that is adjustable for fore/aft position from +25 to -10mm. This allows riders to create the perfect seated pedaling position for maximum performance over extended hours. LARGER VOLUME TYRES When riding long distances with extended time in the saddle, larger volume tires are the answer. The Infinito CV Disc is compatible with tires up to 32mm. High-volume tires add extra grip, comfort, and control, without affecting rolling efficiency, or speed.

CX Disc Brakes While there's no doubt regarding the reliable and consistent braking performance of disc brakes, there is no longer an additional weight penalty to worry about, as the race-ready thru-axle system is designed to be as quick and easy to use as a regular quick release, while at the same time offering extra strength, stiffness, and security. Thru-axles, as we know, provide increased axle-stiffness compared to standard quick releases. The 100x12mm front axle and the 142x12mm rear axle CX comes close to the UCI's weight limit for complete bikes. To achieve fast rides from full aerodynamic performance, it is important that both the bike and the rider are as aerodynamically efficient as possible. Our design and engineering teams analyze data from extensive research and development and incorporate performance improvements into all new models. The ARIA’s advanced aerodynamic design has been heavily inspired by our extensive wind-tunnel testing, ride data collection, and feedback from our pro riders. For the bike, full aerodynamic performance means the shape of the tubes’ profiles and their structural combination to cheat the wind’s resistance, resulting in the lowest drag possible. For the rider, full aerodynamic performance means creating a position that allows for the least air resistance. Rider aerodynamics are achieved with an ideal frame and fork racing geometry that allows for an advanced tuck position. Aero frame plus aero rider position equals Full Aero.
