All Box handlebars are engineered and crafted using our Oversized Technology. Handlebars have a dual purpose as they contribute to both steering and pedaling stiffness. By strategically varying wall thicknesses and tube diameters, we have moved material from 3 low-stress areas to zones of high load. This has greatly minimized twists and contributed to responsiveness. Concurrently we have increased pedaling stiffness by providing a backstop to the “lifting” phenomenon. There is no point pushing hard on your pedals if you can’t pull up on your handlebars and deliver that power. Power can easily be lost to handlebar deflection and the consequences can lead to poor power delivery and steering control. When combined with Box’s other Oversized components, you’ll experience heightened responsiveness and reduced latency. Key differences: This particular model handlebar is tailored for medium-sized racers so we decided to use hardened aluminum alloy to reduce unnecessary mass. Easton’s new AX series line of bars meets the needs of the growing drop bar adventure and gravel segment. Building off the highly successful and critically acclaimed line of new MCD road bars and EA70 and EC70 AX bar utilizes the same top shape and reach as well as the ergonomic drop shape but turns up the drop flare from 4 degrees all the way up to 16 degrees. The wider stance in the drops provides more control on rough terrain and long gravel assaults. Why 16-degrees?
